Choralyne Dumesnil is a lawyer at the Paris Bar. She is a member of the legal commissions of the associations “Innocence en Danger”, “Avocat Femmes Violences” and “Commission pour l’Abolition des Mutilations Sexuelles”. She is a tutor at the Law Clinic “Accès au Droit”, of Sciences Po Paris. Since 2015, she teaches the course “Legal Aspects of Gender Violence in Conflict” in Paris Sciences and Letters.
After a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a focus on Asia-India and a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property from Sciences Po in Paris, Choralyne Dumesnil defended a doctoral thesis supervised by Professor Michel Vivant at the École de Droit de Sciences Po in Paris on the subject: “Des enseignements juridiques de l’Inde : voyage au-delà du miroir du droit.”, Réflexions issues de l’observation du brevetage en Inde dans le secteur pharmaceutique (2014).
This work was carried out through numerous interviews conducted in India and after an exchange year at Harvard Law School (2011-2012) supervised by Professor Yochai Benkler.
After meetings with associations working on the subject of sexual violence in India and the United States, Choralyne Dumesnil became a speaker on the subject of “violences sexuelles et sexistes” in high schools in Ile de France within the Agence pour le Développement des Relations Interculturelles et de la Citoyenneté (2013-2015) and the Fleury-Mérogis Men’s Prison (2015).Back
