Jean-Jacques Martin

Jean-Jacques Martin is an experienced lawyer with over thirty years in the practice, with degrees in both theology and law from the University of Geneva. He has worked as an associate at numerous firms, and has also taught at the University of Geneva in the department of constitutional law. Jean-Jacques Martin is currently chair of two cooperative housing associations, Aurore and Les Hirondelles, the latter of which he is also the founder. Engaged in religious life, he served as a protestant chaplain of the Carrefour-Prison in Geneva and is the current Chair of the Founding Council of the Protestant University Center. He is a member of the administrative council of the International Guarantee Fund (FIG) and of the RAFAD Foundation (Research and Applications for Alternative Financing for Development), both active in microfinance. In 2011, he became a member of the Human Rights Commission of the Geneva Bar Association and of the TRIAL Association (Track Impunity Always), a Swiss non-profit that fights against the impunity of the perpetrators and instigators of the most serious international crimes.
