Marc de Fritsch

General Marc de Fritsch entered the Special Military School of Saint-Cyr in 1985 after the preparatory classes. In 1989, he became a helicopter pilot for tactical transport. From 1990 to 1997, he was deployed on many theaters of operations for the French army : Chad, Cambodia, the Balkans. Also, he joined the helicopter-carrier Jeanne d’Arc for several months and contributed to promoting the Cougar helicopter. He was promoted senior officer in 1998. The following year, he joined the Ecole supérieure des sciences économiques et commerciales (ESSEC) for a 2-year program. He then alternated between positions at the Defense central administration as project manager attached to the army staff or to the Finance department and operational positions within the special forces. In 2009, he became head of the Army Corps 4th Helicopters Regiment of the Special Forces.  After a position as deputy director in charge of the prospective for the strategic affairs department of the ministry of Defense, he was appointed advisor to the preparation of defence and national security boards in 2014. Since 2016, Marc is the Director of Bilateral Cooperation – South, where he animates the international military relations network with the armies of the African, Middle Eastern, Asian and Latin American countries.

Marc de Fristch is an Officer of the Légion d’Honneur and holds the medal of Aeronautics. Also, he is the co-writer of Des guerres et des homes, idées recues sur 25 siècles de conflits.
